The Advocacy Center of Tompkins County provides support services to victims of domestic violence, child sexual abuse and sexual assault as well as prevention education programming to our community. We are excited to have a number of positions available for people who want to work in our progressive social service agency. On Call Advocate - Full Time $16.34/hr The On Call Advocate will assess the needs of community members who reach out for services through our hotline. They will provide immediate support, information, referrals and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse, as well as to non-offending family members, professionals and others who are supporting victims. Participation in a paid rotation of after-hours on-call (weeknight, weekend, and holiday), with other client services staff is required. Must be able to respond in person to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY within 45 minutes. Applicants must be able to navigate stairs, periods of sitting. Standing and movement required. Vehicle and valid driver's license is required. Campus Educator - Full Time $16.64/hr The Campus Educator will provide education and support on issues of sexual assault, stalking and domestic/dating violence to college students and other members of the college community at Ithaca College, Cornell University and Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Educator will serve on relevant campus prevention and policy committees as directed by the Education Director, will coordinate campus activities for Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Awareness Months, Take Back The Night, and implement both the Bringing in the Bystander & the Enhanced Acknowledge, Assess, Act (EAAA) evidence based curricula. Applicants must be able to ascend/descend stairs, travel to and navigate college campuses, have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds to a height of 2-3 feet and independently load items in and out of their vehicle. Vehicle and valid driver's license is required. Housing Advocate - Full Time $16.34/hr The Housing Advocate will provide support, advocacy and case management services to residents in our nine-bed confidential domestic violence safe house as well as to non-residential survivors. The Housing Advocate will help service users build resources that can assist with rent, security deposits, utility setup, relocation costs, and household needs to support future economic security. Services will be provided at our shelter, at our main office, in the community and in the home of the service recipient. This position works in a non-handicap accessible location. Applicants must be able to ascend/descend stairs, travel between job sites, and have the ability to lift up to 40 pound boxes to a height of 2-3 feet and load them into a car. Vehicle and valid driver's license is required. Youth/Family Advocate - Full Time $16.34/hr The Youth/Family Advocate will provide support, advocacy, information and referrals and case management services to sexually abused youth and non–offending family members who receive services through our Child Advocacy Center. The Youth/Family Advocate will provide accompaniment to meetings with law enforcement, caseworkers and prosecutors, and will help access necessary services for the youth and family. Participation in a paid rotation of after-hours on-call (weeknight, weekend, and holiday), with other client services staff is required.
